NASA Juno: Close Flyby of Jupiter’s moon Europa

On Thursday, Sept 29 2022, at around 2:36 a.m. PDT, NASA’s spacecraft JUNO has made one of the closest approaches towards Europa and the first one since 2000. Juno came 352 kilometers close to the equator taking the beautiful picture you can see above.

Currently it is estimates that the pictures taken have a resolution of 1km per pixel, which would make them some of the highest resolution pictures ever taken from the moon.

In addition, we are awaiting data from the MWR (Microwave Radiometer) of Juno, the data should reveal some new insights into the structure of the moon.
